Follow on Google News | WINGS Opens Logistics Center in Elk Grove Village, IllinoisBy: WINGS WINGS will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Logistics Center in Elk Grove Village, Ill. on May 5, 2016 at 1 p.m. The Mayor of Elk Grove Village - Craig Johnson - will be in attendance, along with Rebecca Darr, CEO of WINGS and Marci Kresin, COO of WINGS. Trustee Nancy Czarnik, Village Manager Matt Roan, Assistant Village Manager Maggie Jablonski, and Village Clerk Judy Keegan will also be in attendance. The ribbon cutting event will include refreshments and an open house and tour of the facility. The Logistics Center, located at 1265 Oakton, accepts donations of clothing, housewares and furniture Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. "We are excited to open our new center and to be a part of the Elk Grove Village community," said Rebecca Darr, CEO of WINGS. "This donation center will allow WINGS to receive more items to be utilized in our programs and we are excited about the possibilities," Items donated at the Logistics Center will be sorted and later distributed among the agency's three resale stores or distributed to the agency's clients. WINGS provides emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing for victims, along with counseling and other services. WINGS operates two emergency shelters, 31 locations for transitional and permanent housing, and three resale stores, whose profits go directly to support WINGS operations. WINGS is currently the largest domestic violence housing agency in the state of Illinois. Based in Suburban Chicago, WINGS serves women and child victims in both the city of Chicago and its suburbs.
