There is a decided need to address the increasing number of homeless and disadvantaged individuals in the area, and a need to provide a united effort to ease the plight of those in need. CHI was organized to first provide meals to reduce hunger and secondly to provide programs for those in need to bring about change in their lives and in the community. CHI relies on the surrounding community to sustain the numerous activities offered. From the support and generosity of restaurants, hotels, and individual donors who provide meals, to the social service agency and institution partners providing means by which those in need can secure assistance to bring about change in their lives, and many volunteers, provides a positive path for CHI guests.
