Petsway Founder Celebrates 65 Years in Business

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - May 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Petsway, a second generation locally-owned family business, is celebrating 65 years serving the Ozarks.  In 1951, founder, Karl Keller Sr. started with one guppy and a dream. The early stores, called Karl's Aquarium, specialized in tropical fish. In the mid-90s, Karl's Aquarium & Pets became the familiar Pet Warehouse. The company enjoyed tremendous growth in the following years, with 5 locations in Springfield and single stores in Joplin, Polar Bluff, and St. Louis. In 2014, Pet Warehouse became Petsway. Though the pet supply store has enjoyed many names, its local roots and ownership have remained the same.

"We are incredibly grateful to the community for their support these sixty-five years," said Karl Keller II, Petsway Vice President.

The selection of pets and pet supplies at Petsway has grown exponentially over the years to include products and services for all types of pets.

"We're always looking for ways to enhance customers' lives and benefits for their pets," said Keller. "We believe education is key, from how to care for various pets to providing the best food. We carry a wide range of food to meet the dietary needs of as many pets in our extended pet family as possible."

Services include grooming, obedience training, pet clinics, and self-serve dog washes and birthday parties at select locations. Petsway is committed to providing customers with the best quality products and foods for their pets and the personal care and service that can only be found locally.

"We've had an amazing sixty-five years, and we look forward to many more to come," concluded Keller.

In addition to providing pet owners with the very best in food and supplies, Petsway works with local shelters and rescue groups to regularly host pet adoption events and fundraisers.
