Google Apps project for digitalizing business apps at United Biscuits has received Real IT Award

May 18, 2016 - PRLog -- The Real IT Awards celebrate the success of IT teams in making an outstanding contribution to their organisations and leading the way in innovation. The G-workplace / Google Apps project for digitalizing business applications of United Biscuits has received the award!

At the Real IT Awards, IT peers recognise each other for their big ideas, big ambitions and huge success in meeting and exceeding business goals. Companies like Royal mail, PepsiCo and John Lewis are competing in several categories for the winner.

United Biscuits replaced their legacy application landscape with modern 'simple' digital applications.  UB were looking  to do this within the out-of-the-box Google Apps platform to utilise the Google APIs and avoid the extra complexity and cost of implementing an additional platforms. The single sign-on to Google would provide access to E-mail, Calendar, Drive, G+ and all  business applications from anywhere on any device.

We have built these applications with a Simplicity Mantra to emulate the Google/Apple experience and provide a 10x improvement in business ways of working. No additional software or platforms were required. Using Google Apps Script we created reusable frameworks and components that means a new business application could be built in 10 - 20 man days.

As the Google Apps partner of United Biscuits, G-workplace performed the development projects for digitalizing business applications. The project was submitted for the Real IT Awards and won the award.
