Transforming Personalities: PIET College Beauty Contest

PANIPAT, India - June 2, 2016 - PRLog -- The night of 24^th March was a glamorous one at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), 70 mile stone, NH1, Samalkha, the Top Colleges of Haryana, Delhi NCR and North India. The occasion was 'MISS HARYANA' contest which is organised by'Anukampa' group and co-sponsored by 'Muskan Charitable Trust' Sonepat, another social organisation run by Ms. Arpita Bansal for 'women empowerment' and 'child right protection'.  At the same time Anukampa group, which is headed by Mr. Ishan Chhabra and his aides Ms Divya Arora and Ms. Jagriti is a 'Talent Hunt' mission in the fashion series, destination 'Miss India Global'. The modus operandi being that 'Miss' regional contests are carried out through out India and the winners form the part of 'Miss India Global' contest, which is held once in a year.

This year the grand finale venue for Miss Haryana was chosen to be the PIET amphitheater, which was filled to the brim by the enthusiastic spectators who had gathered here to watch this beauty contest amongst 15 participants from various Haryana colleges. And to everyone's surprise 8 out of 15 were from this institute alone, which makes it fairly justified as a venue.

About PIET, it is affiliated to one of the top universities of India, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and approved by AICTE, India. While this institute is best known for its world class infrastructure in the first place, it is also a place where the personalities of the youth are transformed alongside the best academic inputs by the most competent teachers with the help of latest methodologies adopted from the universities of advanced countries as the institute has developed strong global tie-ups over the years. During their stay in college the students are inducted into managerial activities by providing them chances to co-ordinate and manage functions. This is what fills them with confidence and their latent talents find expression in the form of what was seen on this night, 8 girls on this glamorous stage. it just doesn't end here unless we incorporate here that one the main judges, Mr. Sahil Gandhi, the main character in the TV serials like Nagin and Piya Rangrez, is also a PIET alumnus.

The participants in the beauty contest were given a two day training by Miss Shine and her team on the ramp walking plus other beauty tips, public speaking and confidence boosting. Miss Shine is also the make up in charge for Anukampa group and is apt in her skill in preparing the girls.

As a result of all these efforts put in by all, Manya Khurana, the BBA 1^st year student wore the MISS HARYANA crown at the hands of PIET' Chairman, Shri Hari Om Tayal, who is known in this region as a great educationist said,." Education is the overall development of the young aspirants as envisaged by Michelangelo, who was a   sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and engineer of the High Renaissance period in the 15^th century, and this is what you are all seeing here, a management student wearing the crown of a beauty queen". And not only this, five more titles were bagged by the PIET students, which are Miss Photogenic (Priyanka Singh MBA), Miss Congenital (Purva Mittal BCA), Miss Eyeconic (Bhumika BBA), Miss Natural Beauty (Sugandh IT), Miss Muskan (Meenakshi BBA). While presenting theses titles Shri Rakeh Tayal, Member BOG, PIET said, " it gives me pleasure and pride together as I present these awards to the young stars on the PIET stage, which is also the favorite of many star celebrities of Bollywood who have performed here to the best audience, I am happy that our students have learnt a lot out of these cultural activities we plan for them at a big cost and proud because all round I see the PIET students wearing crown or sashed which reassures me that we are in the right direction of our mission of transforming the personalities of the gen next.
