ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - June 24, 2016 - PRLog -- Emergency Communications Network (ECN), North America's largest provider of critical and mass notification systems, has partnered with the City of Cleveland, Ohio to provide its critical communication and emergency notification solution, CodeRED, to all of its support citywide communications including those throughout the upcoming 2016 Republican National Convention (RNC) being held in July.

With a reported 16.9 million visitors in 2014 and predictions that this trend will continue, CodeRED will allow city emergency management officials to quickly deliver targeted community and emergency communications regarding severe weather, power outages, missing persons, and other time-sensitive alerts to residents and staff across the city. The system utilizes geo-targeting technology to alert those directly impacted via phone, text, email, TTY, social media, mobile app notifications, or any combination of these channels.

"We are excited to deploy CodeRED to help us better inform our residents, business owners and visitors in the City of Cleveland," said Alex Pellom, the Cleveland Emergency Operations Center Manager. "The system provides us an efficient and effective way to streamline information to those who need to know.  The mobile application provides us with another medium of communication that will serve our community moving forward in becoming more prepared and aware of both emergency and non-emergency occurrences."

Residents in the city are encouraged to visit the city's website at www.city.cleveland.oh.us to enroll in the system, providing their preferred contact method and information. The system is free, including the ability to download the most downloaded public safety mobile app on the market, the CodeRED Mobile Alert app. With the app, residents are able to receive push notifications while at home or when traveling around the country through other CodeRED jurisdictions. The app is available from the App Store and Google Play.
