COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - July 11, 2016 - PRLog -- National Mill Dog Rescue is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry. Since 2007, NMDR has rescued almost 11,000 dogs from puppy mills throughout the Midwest. For all of these dogs, the organization has provided extensive medical treatment, rehabilitation, socialization and adoption services, with a goal of preparing each of them for life in a loving home.

The Petco Foundation investment will help to cover the costs of veterinary examinations, vaccinations, spay and neuter surgeries, microchipping, treatment for severe dental disease and a multitude of other necessary procedures, including mammary tumor removal, hernia repairs and eye and ear procedures.

"We are incredibly proud to be recognized by the Petco Foundation through the award of this generous grant, which will help as many as 30 of our precious survivors get all the care they need to make them adoption-ready," said Theresa Strader, NMDR founder and executive director. "With the stalwart support of good partners like the Petco Foundation, we can look forward to continuing our rescue and education mission for as long as we are needed."
