Midtown Psychiatry & TMS Center Announces Cigna Insurance now covers TMS Treatment in Houston

HOUSTON - Aug. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Midtown Psychiatry & TMSCenter, is pleased to announce that effective 03/28/16, Cigna has a new Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation(TMS) coverage policy. This coverage will now provide access to TMS treatment for people with major depression among the approximately 14.7 Million members nationwide. This coverage decision brings to at least 3 insurance companies with whom we work that now provide coverage for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.

The Midtown Psychiatry & TMS Center provides Neurostar Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared the Neurostar TMS Therapy system for the treatment of major depression. The Neurostar TMS system was the first and only device of its kind to be cleared by the FDA. Research has clinically proven TMS Therapy for the treatment of major depression in adults who have failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from prior antidepressant medications.

Although Midtown Psychiatry & TMS Center has been providing this treatment for several years, we are happy to report that Cigna has joined Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Optum as the insurance companies who are now offering this benefit.
