Follow on Google News | Autistic Teenager Creates New Trade Publication17 year old Hunter Kelley is the Co-Editor of Serenity Trade Publication, a new monthly online magazine which combines, natural healing, science and family help for autism education.
By: Venus Rizing Publishing Hunter is a high functioning autistic with a vast knowledge in the universe and energy. He enjoys writing about what he knows and also has some down to earth opinions concerning autism.Hunter told us, when he speaks his words come out all jumbled up but when he writes, everything comes to him virtually at the speed of light. He feels he can communicate better through written words, so that's what he's doing. Hunter's amazing sphere of knowledge related to star systems and energy is reflected in his writing skills. When I first read his column "Cosmos Dreaming" I thought it had been put together by a College professor. His intelligence and articulation of the English language definately shows in his work. Hunter says he put this magazine together with the help of his mother because she knows more about publishing but he is learning how to take over Serenity entirely on his own. He also invites other autistic people to write for the publication. In Hunter's opinion not enough people understand how autism affects those who live with it every day and why Serenity is so important. "I write about what I see happening to autistic people through my eyes. Personally for me it's like playing the game of life, just in hard mode". - Hunter Kelley Hunter has social anxiety issues so creating this magazine was a way for him to reach out to other autistics for friendship, along with showing other people what it's like to live in Hunter's shoes. He is also trying to reach parents and give them hope; just because your son or daughter has autism, doesn't mean they can't touch the stars and heal. "I've seen many autistics become alienated in some way. Low to mid functioning are underestimated, treated infantile by all age groups, due to their inability to make a life of their own. High functioning or Aspies like me are over or underestimated. Either we are viewed to be superhuman by most people, or infantile by some much older people. I'm completely fine with the world knowing I have autism, as long as I'm treated my age and not viewed as a superhuman in the process." - Hunter Kelley There is definitely a calming and peaceful message throughout Serenity Trade Publication because Hunter says it's important. "I was raised in nature and like hiking. Mom and dad also take care of me with natural medicines because CBD Cannabis Oil helps to keep my head clear which means I can concentrate on my articles." Hunter's parents Mike and Victoria Kelley have raised their sons to love nature and it shows in some of the snapshots proudly displayed throughout the publication. The family is about earth connection as being one of the best therapies out there. "We found by giving Hunter more natural surroundings he could find peace and serenity in his life and why we named the publication Serenity. Hunter also grows vegetables and learned about aquaponics, which have been amazing therapies for him. This is something Mike and I recommend to other parents, teach your children to grow food." -Victoria Kelley Serenity Trade Publication is reaching out to parents, professionals and other autistic people worldwide. The message Hunter Kelley is bringing, "Finding serenity in Autism" and we think that's an amazing message.
