By: HBC Festival The definitive expat and international music fest in Korea. Made up entirely of independent music artists and performers from Korea and a host of other countries. Lance Reegan-Diehl continues to be the central organizer for the festival and every year, and it is indeed exciting the acts and artists that are wanting to perform this fall event. HBC is one main street where the action happens it is very famous as a local expat hangout, and the Hae Bang Chon festival has made the entire area blossom into a bubbly, busy place for all kinds of businesses to open as more people find it an attractive neighborhood to be in. The festival has always adapted to the demands of both musicians and venues, and with that the size and scope of the festival has fluctuated through the years. Phillies Pub, Camarata Music, Bedrock , Thunderhorse Tavern, and V-Lounge host the bands where the music is loud and rocking, the majority of the sound buffered due to their basement locations. Also noted they will have a few bands on for Friday the 21st. However this time most of the music is on Saturday the 22nd. Street level acoustic performers will entertain the busy bars, and in the underground rock, alt-rock, funk, blues, R&B bandswill keep the air vibrant until 1am. Joining a host of local bands including Kimchi Cowboys, Wooden Lucy, One Way Out. Kenji Onizuka returns this fall again, to perform solo and with the L.R.D. Band. Kenji is on his way to the Music China event the following week in Shanghai. The festival is provided by local business owners who give independent artists a place to play, and DEELEEBOB Music. Friday, Oct. 21st the music starts at 9pm and runs until 12. 5 venues running Saturday Oct. 22nd is an entire day of music from about 3pm until 1am with 14 plus venues. Sunday Oct. 23rd the Hidden Cellar at 7pm with its ongoing acoustic Sunday's open stage performances.
