U.S. Commercial Service Looks to Form Atlanta Delegation for Singapore FinTech Festival

Atlanta FinTech industry leaders participated in an open house hosted by the U.S. Commercial Service to learn about the ASEAN market and find out how to become part of the official FinTech business delegation to Singapore.

ATLANTA - Sept. 27, 2016 - PRLog -- The U.S. Commercial Service, the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), and the City of Atlanta collaborated last week to speak with local financial technology companies about the upcoming trade mission to Singapore. The 2016 Singapore FinTech Festival seeks to provide a platform for Atlanta-based FinTech businesses to meet with potential partners and increase commercial sales.

With a captive audience ranging from startups to global leaders such as First Data, participants heard from TAG President/CEO Tino Mantella and Margaret Hanson-Muse, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs for the ASEAN Region with the U.S. Commercial Service on why the time is now to take advantage of these opportunities.

"One of America's best kept secrets is the innovation economy emerging out of the nation's Southeastern Region," said Tino Mantella in his remarks. "Georgia is home to major and emerging FinTech companies…and TAG stands ready to do its part to help build those global partnerships – a process that we hope begins right here today."

Margaret Hanson-Muse went on to explain why companies should look to do business in Southeast Asia and join the business delegation to Singapore. "The ASEAN region is home to half the world's population and some of the fastest growing economies," she stated. "In addition to being a leading financial technology hub, Singapore is ranked #1 in the world for ease of doing business and has the most successful Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on record."

The open house provided businesses a comprehensive overview of the FinTech Festival and the U.S.-ASEAN Connect initiative. Attendees also received valuable details regarding flight planning, logistics, and cultural customs.
