Warren Manufacturing Closes in on New Business Following U.S. Commercial Service Led Trade Mission

SANTA CRUZ DE LA SIERRA, Bolivia - Dec. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- Birmingham-based Warren Manufacturing is following up on potential new partnerships following a trade mission to Latin America in September.

Warren Manufacturing was one of about 100 U.S. businesses and organizations that participated in the Trade Winds-Latin America trade mission, organized by the U.S. Commercial Service and sponsored by the Alabama Department of Commerce.

"We chose to explore Bolivia because we see it as an up-and-coming market that will eventually have significant demand for our equipment," said Warren Manufacturing International Sales Manager Michael Clark. "We met with people familiar with our product and industry. They knew that our equipment is needed by some of the bigger poultry farms and are actively spreading the word about us.

"In the short term, it is all about making those connections because you know in the long term there is going to be opportunity," he said.

Warren Manufacturing produces bulk feed delivery truck bodies and trailers, delivery bodies and trailers for nitrate, and ANFO systems for the mining industry. It also does repair work for all bulk feed units.

Warren Manufacturing visited Bolivia and Chile on the trade mission, and teams at the U.S. embassies in both countries set up meetings for the company with business leaders in both markets.

"We've been doing business in South America for many years, but Trade Winds gave us a chance to explore a new market in Bolivia and to reconnect with potential customers I had met with previously in Chile," Clark said. "We see some really promising opportunities to grow."

"Bolivia is an often-overlooked market," said Robert Stackpole, director of the Commercial Service team in Alabama. "But its economy continues to grow steadily and agriculture producers plan to triple Bolivia's agriculture gross domestic product by 2025. It's a really promising market for Warren Manufacturing."

"We had several Alabama companies return from Trade Winds with very promising leads," said Hilda Lockhart, director of the Alabama Department of Commerce International Trade Division. "It's great to see companies like Warren connect to new sales opportunities because those foreign sales can create a major impact here in Alabama."

Agricultural products is Alabama's 11th-largest export sector, with $299.5 million of goods exported in 2015.
