By: J Kingsman The Awards Ceremony is the highlight of the Chairman's Reception at the House of Lords and this year we are pleased to announce a new award – Best EIS/SEIS Journalist. This will be presented to the journalist that, in the opinion of the judges, has contributed most to the awareness or education of EIS and Seed EIS during 2016. Awards Categories The Awards that will be on 1st February 2017 are: Best EIS Fund Manager/Sponsor, sponsored by Edwin Coe Best SEIS Fund Manager, sponsored by Kuber Ventures Best EIS/SEIS Tax Adviser, sponsored by Downing Best EIS/SEIS Legal or Regulatory Adviser, sponsored by Calculus Capital Best EIS Investment Exit, sponsored by Mainspring Fund Services Best Innovation, Newcomer or Rising Star in EIS/SEIS – Company, sponsored by Reyker Best Innovation, Newcomer or Rising Star in EIS/SEIS – Individual, sponsored by Deal Partners Best EIS/SEIS Journalist, sponsored by Hardman & Co The criteria for each category have been reviewed by practitioners in each particular category. Firms are asked to submit their own applications giving information from the past 12 months only in relation to the set criteria. The entries will then be judged by a panel of independent judges. The Best EIS/SEIS Journalist award will be judged by a team of former journalists and industry experts. Judging Panel The following people have agreed to be judges of these awards: • Mark Brownridge – EISA Director General • Martin Fox – Bulletin Marketing – Managing Director • Declan McAndrew CFA – Foster Denovo – Head of Investment Research • Lee Moran – Baigre Davies – Chair of the Investment Committee & Head of Research • Jenny Tooth – UK Business Angels Association – Chief Executive • Philip Salter – The Entrepreneurs Network – Founder • Malcolm Snook – MPL Wealth Management – Senior Financial Planning Manager • Ewoud Karelse – Towry – Product Specialist • Entry Process Entry for the Awards is now open and closes on December 12, 2016. • Entrants should submit their own applications and base their entries on the criteria shown. • Applications for each category should not exceed 1,000 words overall with no more than 250 words for each criteria. • Entries should clearly state which Award category is being entered. • Entrants may send entries for more than one category of Award.
