The Queen wears crown and jewels and is seated, holding fan. At top is printed photographer's name and address: "Hay Wrightson, 41 New Bond St. W". Signed and dated at bottom "Mary R 1931". The photo was presented to Percival Griffiths, Esq. The note reads "In remembrance of a charming afternoon spent at Sandridgebury / from / Mary R / June 30, 1931". Also included is envelope with "The Queen" listed as sender. The frame is gilt sterling silver. Rectangular with arched top and engraved royal coat of arms. Hallmarked Richard Comyns in London in 1931. The frame has stained-wood back with glazed cut-away panels for note and envelope, and hinged support. Queen Mary was the less than ebullient House of Windsor matriarch, who has been featured in movies, television dramas, and biographies.
