ANGELS IN TRAINING THE MUSICAL Starring Monyetta Shaw and DeEtta West hits Atlanta April 1st

ATLANTA - March 8, 2017 - PRLog -- Angels in Training the musical is a story that surrounds a young woman who prayed for death as a release from her domestic violence relationship. Imagined by re-known writer-director Tiffany Roberts of the production company Simply Tiffany Soul, which has produced and directed numerous stage plays and films. This phenomemal musical staring DeEtta West (Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins and Tyler Perry's Meeet the Browns) and Monyetta Shaw (Atlanta Exes, Actress and Philanthropist) deals with a very significant issue in society, which is the prominent effect domestic violence has on our culture.

The play follows the story of one woman named Alyssa, who turns out to be a victim of domestic violence, (which she believes is a generational curse), and her electrifying journey and discovery of self-worth. Alyssa learns that you can't always judge a prayer by its answer. She prays for God to take her life in her sleep to escape the hardships of her life, so God grants her prayer, but instead of letting her die and go to heaven, Alyssa is sent just outside of heaven to the Angels in Training boot camp. Angels in Training is truly a story of triumph, overcoming hardships, love, and self-realization. This is the story of Gods love for us by showing us that our life is an example of his love and that we should always cherish it. Angels in Training puts dealing with issues like domestic violence and bullying out in the open but encompassed with great music and electrifying dance numbers and songs that will surely make the heavens smile. This musical will have you cringing in your seats, laughing, and praying all at the same time.

Tiffany Roberts, the writer-director takes the audience on a 90-minute transformative journey to show her audience the joy and pain of what giving up looks like to the redemption of an individual who has given up on life. Roberts states "The story is fictional, however, it is based on the lives of so many men and women who face this every day. I wanted to show an inspiring story of how so many wish to end their lives easily forgetting those that depend on them, and how God shows them that they can survive with his love and are a light to others". Tiffany with her production company, Simply Tiffany Soul has directed and wrote many plays including Little Black Girl Blues which ultimately helped her to cross over to directing movies such as "Selfish Desires" and "Burning Bridges". With more than 10 years in the Arts & Entertainment, Roberts truly represents a modern woman constantly reinventing herself through her expressions in stage and film.
