By: Boston River Run The Boston River Run is a spirited, patriotic 3K and 5K run/walk that takes place each Veterans Day weekend. The run offers a family-friendly course that welcomes runners and walkers of all ability levels. From first time 5k'ers to competitive running club enthusiasts, all are welcome. The main course is a 3.1 mile loop on the Charles River along Soldiers Field Road. Prizes will be given to the top three men, top three women, and top man and woman in each of six age groups. This year's race is particularly significant as a student recipient of the scholarship from Bunker Hill Community College, Dalia Zeabi, will be speaking. The Bunker Hill Community College president, Dr. Pam Eddinger, will be in attendance. "We just feel like this race keeps Andy's memory alive. We want to both raise funds to help students succeed and bring together the community to honor our veterans," said John Narcus, founder of the Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund and Boston River Run Race Director. The race takes place at the Artesani Park, 1255 Soldiers Field Road, Boston. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m., preceded by brief remarks and the national anthem. Race awards and raffle drawing will take place at 10 a.m. Spectators and volunteers are needed and are invited to visit the many sponsor and vendor booths preceding and during the race.
