Early Japonesque sterling silver tea set. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. This set comprises teapot, creamer, and sugar. Each: Flat sides with curved ends and bottom set in 4-legged frame with block feet. Teapot and sugar have flat cover with raised center and c-scroll finial (teapot cover hinged). Teapot and creamer have scroll handles (creamer handle rattan style). Sugar has side brackets with loose rings. Teapot has straight spout and creamer has stubby spout. Creamer and sugar interior lightly gilt. Ornament includes blossoming prunus branches, bamboo, and clouds as well as stylized ornament and scrollwork. Engraved script monogram integrated into design.

A wonderful example of the Asian influence on Tiffany during the 19th century. Union Square hallmark (1870-5) includes pattern no. 3024 as well as French import marks. Fine condition and deep patina.

Dimensions: Teapot: H 5 1/2 x W 8 1/4 x D (feet) 3 3/8 in. Creamer: H 3 3/8 x W 5 3/4 x D (feet) 2 7/8 in. Sugar: H 4 3/4 x W 7 x D (feet) 3 1/8 in. Total weight: 34 troy ounces.
