Former Reality TV Star to Host Teen Summit for at-risk Teens Vulnerable to Human and Sex Trafficking

Genise Shelton, who's Married to Medicine fame provided her a significant platform will host her annual Teen Summit in Atlanta on January 21, 2018, a month designated to bring attention to human and sex trafficking. CNN reports Sex trafficking as 'The New American Slavery'. According to a 2014 study by the Urban Institute, some traffickers in Atlanta make more than $32,000 a week. The study also cited research findings from 2007 that Atlanta's illegal sex industry generates around $290 million a year.

In 2017, Genise launched Our Children's Keeper Foundation, (http://www.ourchildrenskeeper.org/) created to help end modern day slavery of child sex trafficking and recover abducted and missing children in Atlanta and surrounding areas. The Teen Summit will take place from 11 am - 6 pm at Jon'Ric Salon and Spa and The Cave Luxury Barber Spa, both located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, where sex-trafficking often hides in plain sight. It is geared towards teens in at-risk environments from ages 10 - 18. Sponsorship starts at $50 per child.
