Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker inaugurated National Conference 'BlodCon-2017' at LPU

JALANDHAR, India - Dec. 2, 2017 - PRLog -- Jalandhar:  Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana K P Singh inaugurated three-day national conference 'BlodCon-2017' at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of Lovely Professional University, today. The massive conduction of this conference is in association with National Blood Transfusion Council (NBTC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. Selected 150 delegates of various 'Blood Donor Motivator Organizations' from across India & abroad are participating in this socially useful workshop cum conference. Federation of Indian Blood Donors Organizations (FIBDO), Hindustan Welfare Blood Donors Club (HWBD Club), Phagwara, and LPU have joined hands for successful conduction of the conference.

Inaugurating the national conference, Chief Guest, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana K P Singh appreciated the efforts of blood donor motivator organizations of the state & the country and all blood donors to help the needy ones. Acknowledging the needs of such organizations, he implored all particularly youth at LPU to be more awakened towards blood donation camps through huge volunteering participations.

NBTC Director Dr Shobni Rajan, Former Chief Parliamentary Secretary MLA Phagwara Som Parkash,  MLA NawanShahr Angad Singh, Lovely Group Chairman Mr Ramesh Mittal, FIBDO President KP Rajgopalan, National Secretary Biswaroop Biswas, LPU Director General Er HR Singla, HWBD Club President Vitin Puri were also present to grace the occasion. In the evening of the inaugural day, a broad 'Poster-Session' and awakening rally was held where all delegates participated vehemently. They viewed the posters and had lively and challenging discussions with the poster presenters.

FIBDO National President wanted that important steps should be taken to make blood donation a law in the country and blood stock should be open to all, when and where it is available. He also informed: "Blodcon-2017 is of momentous significance for intensifying the voluntary blood donation movement. It is to provide a great platform to the participants to review the current activities and strategies for promoting voluntary blood donation movement. Participants will confer the challenges ahead, including social dialogue and recruitment of new donors and motivator throughout the world and will draw up major guidelines and roadmaps for Vision 2020."

Aiming towards 100% Voluntary Blood Donation - Vision 2020, Conference is going to have 10 detailed scientific sessions where important panel discussions, poster presentations, handouts forwarding and lectures will be made to motivate all other participants. The conference is to elaborate valuable topics including- "Role of National and State Governments, Blood Banks; Key challenges towards achieving 100% Voluntary Blood Donation; National Blood Policy and National Blood Transfusion Council; Innovations in Blood Donor Recruitment and Retention; Communication Strategy for 100% Blood Donation in other countries; Roadmap to make blood safer; Strengthening Blood Transfusion Services; Meeting requirements of patients needing regular transfusions and many more.
