TAMPA, Fla. - Dec. 19, 2017 - PRLog -- Roslyn's mother survived the concentration camps in Nazi Europe. Her father survived the Nagasaki atomic bomb as a prisoner of war in Japan. They survived their captivity in the most extraordinary of circumstances to eventually meet, marry and make a new life, against all odds.

Their remarkable life story was the subject of a CBC Television Gemini award-nominated documentary called Tea at the Embassy and Roslyn's book, Meant to Be, is being adapted for production as a feature film.

When diagnosed with cancer at 29, Roslyn turned to her parents' never-give-up attitude as inspiration in her fight to beat cancer and overcome many other life obstacles. "My parents are incredible role models for all of us.", Franken says.

Roslyn travels across North America telling her parents' story to diverse audiences of all ages, cultures and religious backgrounds such as: faith-based groups, students, community events, retirement homes, service clubs, veteran groups, cancer groups and any other group wanting to learn from the past and be inspired for the future.

"It's so important that I, as the daughter of these two amazing survivors, carry their torch for future generations. Why? Because there will come a day soon when the aging population of survivors means that there will no longer be survivors to tell their stories. When that day comes, who will be their voice?  I am here to be a voice for them to ensure not only that this time in history is not forgotten, but that people, and especially our youths, understand the strength and courage so wonderfully displayed by my parents. My parents are powerful role models showing us all how we can go through adversity and thrive beyond it. I tell their story because it is also filled with powerful messages relevant for what is happening in the world today that encourage a greater spirit of interfaith and interracial tolerance, community, hope and peace.," says Roslyn Franken.

Roslyn will be available for book signing following the presentation. Admission is free of charge.
