One Woman vows to Lead the Charge to Reduce Suicides due to Bullying and Hidden Pain

HAMPTON, Va. - Dec. 27, 2017 - PRLog -- Using the gift of writing, one woman plans to provide an outlet and form of expression for teens and youth to reduce the number of suicides caused by bullying and depression. In the summer of 2016, Best Selling Author and Motivational Speaker Alesha Brown, The Joy Guru debuted a non-profit youth program dedicated to allowing teens to share their stories, learn about entrepreneurship and write a book.

In 2018, she plans to repeat the program, offered by Crusading Outreach Ministry Inc. 501 c 3 on a more frequent basis. She says: "When I see the number of children that have committed suicide in the US as a result of bullying incidents or similar circumstances, my heart is moved to do something more. I was an abused child so I know what it's like to hold onto pain and shame and see no way out but to commit suicide. One of the things that really saved me was being able to write in journal my thoughts as a form of expression. I think it's so important for children to have an outlet where they feel they are heard, their words are important and they are able to express themselves."
