To be eligible, students from three high schools (Boyd County High School, Lewis County High School, and Rowan County High School) must have selected either Maysville Community & Technical College or Ashland Community & Technical College for their postsecondary education. Sam Howard, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Trace Creek, is excited for the opportunity to help area high school students with their college education. "Although they don't know it," Howard said, "these students have attended—or will attend—one of the many schools we have constructed." Constructing modern educational facilities has been a focus of Trace Creek. "Our students are our future," he said. "Trace Creek is honored to have been selected to construct many major local educational projects." Trace Creek is the construction manager for Boyd County Middle School in Ashland, Kentucky, and the Lewis County Central Elementary School in Vanceburg, Kentucky, currently under construction. In addition, Trace Creek has completed major construction projects for both community colleges, including the Maysville Community & Technical College, Rowan County Campus, and the Ashland Community & Technical College buildings at their main campus and in the EastPark Regional Industrial Park in Ashland, Kentucky. "The Kentucky Community and Technical College System is the finest in the nation," Howard said. "Our local community colleges will play a key role in educating the workforce of tomorrow. I consider it an honor to give back to the local students that will be attending these schools." Trace Creek constructs other notable commercial, industrial, healthcare and public buildings as well. Other local buildings that the firm has constructed include the Ashland Police Department facility and the Phoenix Theatre in Ashland, and Primary Plus and Hospice of Hope in Maysville. Trace Creek is currently constructing the new Rowan County Detention Center in Morehead, Kentucky and has recently been selected as the construction manager for the Comprehend expansion in Maysville, Kentucky. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student in each of these three schools: • Boyd County High School • Lewis County High School • Rowan County High School To be eligible, the student must attend one of the following schools for their postsecondary education: • Maysville Community & Technical College • Ashland Community & Technical College Trace Creek will engage local independent education professionals to select the scholarship recipient in each of the eligible school systems.
