By: Our Children's Keeper Teens were treated to raw conversations by survivors of sex trafficking including Toni Rivera, a victim-turned predator turned advocate, Sade' De'Angela, a survivor who was kidnapped in Atlanta when she was 16 and was gone for almost a year before her family found her along with Atlanta's special unit law enforcement officials. There were empowerment sessions led by successful women to share stories of the importance of knowing your worth and achieving high goals. Chrishon Lampley, a private wine label owner of Love Cork Screw based in Chicago, best known for her appearance on MSNBC's "The Job Interview" spoke about career readiness and achieving dreamlike careers; Aeshia Devore-Branch of Pretty Girls Sweat, shared her story of overcoming bullying through athleticism and embracing her uniqueness and Maxine Caine from STEM Atlanta helped the ladies make the connection between STEM and careers in the beauty and makeup industries. While local hair stylists, wardrobe stylists and makeup artists were onboard to help with our image transformation to ready our teens for their close-up headshots that were printed and framed on the spot. A huge thank you to all media that provided coverage on this growing problem in Atlanta as well as sponsors that helped to make our event a great success. Corporate sponsors included Mixed Chicks, Shelton Hospitalist Group, The Cave Luxury Barber Spa, Jon'Ric Salon & Spa, Lanard & Co., Age No Factor Models, Colour U Cosmetics, Love Cork Screw (Chicago), Nancy's Pizza, AIB Network, VEU Magazine, Art by Andre', STEM Atlanta, Fotography and Pretty Girls Sweat.
