United Premier Soccer League Announces GGS Soccer Club as New Florida Conference Expansion Team

LOS ANGELES - Feb. 20, 2018 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce Golden Goal Sports Soccer Club as a new member starting with the 2018 Spring Season.

Based in Oceoo (Fla.), GGS Soccer Club begins UPSL play in the Florida Conference's Central Division.

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "The UPSL continues to take great shape in the Florida market with quality clubs being added to the mix. Marcos Machado, 60, is President and Head Coach of GGS Soccer Club. A former professional goalkeeper in Brazil, Portugal and the United States, Machado is among the most prominent coaches in Central Florida having credits ranging from youth to his work with Orlando City Soccer Club (USL/MLS) and Orlando Pride Soccer Club (NWSL) as part of the pro teams' coaching staff. He was USL Pro Champions with Orlando City on 2011 and 2013, as well USL Pro Regular Season Champions on 2011, 2012 and 2014. Most recently, Machado was Orlando City SC's Under-16 Development Academy Head Coach.

GGS Soccer Club President and Head Coach Marcos Machado said, "Joining the UPSL allows GGS to add one more stage on the top of the developmental pyramid for our youth academy. It provides the club and excellent opportunity to participate in the famous Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and it sets the right professional environment in which our GGS player can consistently train. Paulo Loffreda is GGS Soccer Club Director. An entrepreneur and business administrator, Loffreda is the former National President (2003-'16) of CEBRASSE, the Brazilian Central Services Sector, and also a former Director of Operations for more than 10 years with professional soccer clubs in Brazil. Current partner for ZIGNET Payment Solution and PLUSA Property Management and an investor in properties and new business in Florida, Loffreda brings an extensive knowledge in handling daily management responsibilities at GGS.

The club is finalizing its venue options in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards. The team soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 130 teams in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 140-plus teams targeted for 2018 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
