If the pattern fans out, fuel may bounce off the vehicle's fill neck and back to the nozzle itself. If the fuel blows back over the nozzle's sensing port, the nozzle will shut-off early. Another problem is spilled fuel if it splashes back outside the fill-neck opening. StreamShaper's patented design (US 6,676,029 B2) eliminates those problems by providing a tightened and controlled flow of fuel as it leaves the nozzle spout, through the various bends within the vehicle's fill neck and into the fuel tank.
