Working Person's Store Employees Volunteer for Day Of Caring

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - June 26, 2018 - PRLog -- A team of Working Person's Store employees participated in United Way's Day of Caring this past weekend.

In a joint effort between The United Way of St Joseph County Indiana and other businesses and groups including the Working Person's Store, volunteers came together to work on several projects around St. Joseph County.  A team from the Working Person's Store worked with Dawn Barnes from the Society of St. Andrew to cut and tie bags for their gleaning program.

Over 1950 bags were cut and tied and will be used this summer by various volunteers while gleaning fields for produce that may otherwise be discarded.  The produce will then make its way to food pantries across the region.
