"Fort Lauderdale – The Place You Never Want to Leave" Video Wins a Telly Award

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Aug. 22, 2018 - PRLog -- Roll out the red carpet! Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, Inc. and the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority collaborated and produced a video entitled "Fort Lauderdale – The Place You Never Want to Leave" and WON a Telly Award. Jenni Morejon, President and CEO, Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority described her commitment to the project. "It's important for a community to have a sense of pride, to reflect upon its amazing attributes, and look toward the future. When a short video can showcase the amazing city Fort Lauderdale is, and all the opportunities that are on the horizon, we start to form a community brand and a message that we can be proud of. This video does just that."

Genia Duncan Ellis, President and CEO, Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, Inc., indicated that "collaborative partnerships are the cornerstone to success and this effort led to producing a feature about our City that becomes an invitation to be here and a strong economic boost. The winning video features still photos, videos and drone videos from locations and events throughout the city along with a voiceover describing Fort Lauderdale as "just right. Fort Lauderdale has everything you want at your fingertips. A vibrant lifestyle, an engaged local community. Seamless connections to the rest of the world, by air, rail and sea. Fort Lauderdale is a city for all and a city on the move. Our vision looks to the future. Our perspective is regional. Our foundation is strong and pushes our community forward. We enjoy a relaxed vibe and at the same time, celebrate in a city full of life and excitement."

During the Fort Lauderdale City Commission meeting held at Fort Lauderdale City Hall on Tuesday, August 21, Mayor Dean Trantalis read the proclamation from the City Commission of the City of Fort Lauderdale proclaiming August 21, 2018 as a day of recognition for the efforts put forth by Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, Inc., the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority and The Media Lab Inc. to continue to promote our city as "Fort Lauderdale – The Place You Never Want to Leave." The winning video was shown at the commission meeting as trophies were handed out to all involved parties, Mayor Trantalis told the distinguished team "You make us look good."

The Telly Awards, founded in 1979 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable television commercials with non-broadcast video and programming receives over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents. The Award winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.

John Floyd of The Media Lab Inc. was selected as the production partner for this collaborative project combining a variety of skills including still photograph, video and drone photography as well as production, voice over and release of the video.
