Set of 3 sterling silver covered tureens after a design by Frank Lloyd Wright. Retailed by Tiffany & Co. in New York. This set comprises 1 small and 2 large tureens. Each: Octagonal bowl and wide and overhanging rim with applied and cutout Modern fretwork handles. Spread base. Raised cover with soft faceting and "bowtie" finial comprising 2 triangles.

Wright conceived this design for the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, which opened in 1923. It was executed in sterling silver, circa 1986, by Pampaloni in Florence, with the authorization of the architect's foundation. Fully marked including maker's and retailer's stamps. The two large tureens also have foundation stamp. Very good condition.

Dimensions: Large: H 7 1/4 x W 15 3/4 x D 11 1/4 in. Small: H 6 1/2 x W 14 x D 9 3/4 in. Total weight: 309 troy ounces.
