UK kids to be BANNED from buying energy drinks, educogym Canary Wharf debate the possible outcomes

A 12 week consultation has begun to scrap the sales of high energy beverages to help cut obesity statistics. Educogym Canary Wharf debate how this will really affect the obesity epidemic.

CANARY WHARF, U.K. - Aug. 31, 2018 - PRLog -- The nationwide ban will apply to drinks that contain more than 150mg of caffeine per litre, such as Red bull, and will be implemented to those under a certain age. "With the obesity epidemic in the UK getting out of control, any step at this point in the right direction is a good one, energy drinks are high in sugar and caffeine and over all not great for your heart and health, it is so common to see youngsters drinking them for breakfast so I think a ban would be great!"stated Orlstyne Wilson, educogym Canary Wharf personal trainer.

The consultation has come after Jamie Oliver ran a campaign called 'Can It!' which highlighted the links between energy drink consumption and obesity. "A 250ml can of Red Bull contains 80mg of caffeine which is around the same as three cans of Coke! The stimulants in these drinks can be very disruptive for children, especially those drinking them before and during school, so a ban on those under 16 or 18 is welcomed in my opinion." Explained Godfrey Nurse, educogym Canary Wharf personal trainer.

The Prime Minister Theresa May recently announced the consultation while on a trip, and her focus on childhood obesity. "It is great to hear it being taken seriously by the Prime Minister, as the current generation of children get older, if the amount of them that are currently obese increases, we will have a very unhealthy, overweight, hospitalised generation of adults that will cause a huge strain on the country, many wont be able to work, many will have obesity related illnesses, aches and pains and more, the government is very well aware of this potential issue and so knows it needs to crack down as soon as possible" confirmed Orlstyne Wilson, educogym Canary Wharf personal trainer.

educogym Canary Wharf is a private personal training studio based in London, who focus on getting their clients to the best of health. "We ensure all of our clients are eating, and drinking the best things for their health, there is definitely no chance any form of energy drink is on our menu and especially not for under 18's" confirmed Godfrey Nurse, educogym Canary Wharf personal trainer.

DO you think tackling energy drinks and youngsters will help solve the obesity epidemic? Or is it just too small of a minority issue to make a difference?
