Follow on Google News | NDSU Libraries to host National Suicide Prevention Week EventBy: Kelner Communications September 9th through 15th is National Suicide Prevention Week. There is no single cause to suicide. Several factors can increase a person's risk for attempting or dying by suicide. The purpose of this event is to recognize suicide and to get information out to inform people of ways they can help prevent it from happening. There will be take-home resources available on ways to prevent suicide, along with materials available from NDSU Libraries on mental health. Attendees can write the names of those who have been taken from them by suicide in remembrance. Light refreshments will be served. #BeThe1To is the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline's message for National Suicide Prevention Month and beyond, spreading the word about actions we can all take to prevent suicide. The idea is to change the conversation from suicide to suicide prevention, to actions that can promote healing, help and give hope. We can help prevent suicide by learning to help ourselves, help others, seek consultation from trained providers, and to seek hospital care when necessary. Find out how you can save a life by visiting www.BeThe1To.com. If you're concerned about yourself or someone else, please call FirstLink locally at 211 or 701-235-7335 (SEEK).
