WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Sept. 7, 2018 - PRLog -- Know of anyone who has demonstrated high leadership potential in the nonprofit or public sector space? If you do, then nominate them for Nonprofits First's next Rising Leaders Class. Launched in 2005 as a leadership development program for emerging and aspiring leaders to move to the next level of personal and professional growth, the Rising Leaders program has evolved to include over 100 different participants learning from the program and each other.

"Nonprofits First is honored to be developing the next generation of nonprofit leaders in our community," said Jessica Cecere, Chief Executive Officer of Nonprofits First, Inc. "This program started as another way to teach and enrich our members with the skills necessary to be successful in the nonprofit space."

The Rising Leaders program is a multi-session program that includes a variety of training techniques, including panel discussions with community leaders, small and large group exercises and service-oriented activities. Along with learning effective strategies to handle major leadership and organizational challenges, the Rising Leaders experience encourages participants to interact, discover, communicate, and serve as they build their skills to become leaders in the nonprofit sector.

The ideal candidate for the Rising Leaders program has to have demonstrated high leadership potential in the nonprofit or public sectors. The program will be most valuable to those who are eager to learn, have a passion to serve and excel, and who are committed to creating change within their organizations and field, demonstrating new models of leadership through their own work, cultivating new and better ways of working together within their organizations, exploring and implementing new methods of social action, and inspiring others to embrace new forms of leadership and organization.

The course begins in December and runs through May with graduation in June. The deadline to enter is October 12, 2018. The program tuition for each participant is $1,550 for Nonprofits First Members and $1,750 for nonmembers. An agency may send up to three participants, but supervisors and subordinates may not attend together. Over 20 nonprofits participated in the Nonprofits First Rising Leaders Class of 2018. These men and women spent seven months together honing their leadership skills and giving back to the nonprofit sector through four extraordinary community service learning projects – Rising Women (Women's Foundation of Florida); 5 Ropes (The Milagro Center); 19 Weeks to Greatness (Connect to Greatness); Ace'n IT (Student Aces Leadership Academy); and Rise Above Trafficking (Human Trafficking Coalition of the Palm Beaches).
