Follow on Google News | Louisiana's Best Crawfish Boilers, The Boilers Cast Net Team, Needs Your HelpCrawfish Mambo Festival champions are giving back to the community with a fundraising event for the Dose of the Coast Foundation, crawfish season 2019.
By: Boilers Cast Net The Boilers Cast Net team, winners of the aforementioned cook-off, started boiling competitively in 2017 as a hobby and an outlet to showcase their products, The Boilers Cast Net and Ruckus Sauce!. These two products have been a hit with the crawfish crowd and help boils go from eh to Yeah! The flagship product is essentially a boiling bag but with premium qualities (stronger fabric and tighter holes) and the sauce is heaven in your mouth. The Boilers Cast Net creates perfectly done side items and the Ruckus Sauce! is their for support. Johnny Walker Sr., head chef for the Boilers Cast Net team, spent nearly two decades perfecting his backyard boiling art to put on display and did not disappoint. "It feels good to beat actual New Orleans chefs" he said with a smile on his face after being announced winner. Johnny feels so strongly in his team, products and food that he wants the whole gulf coast region to enjoy it with him. As crawfish season creeps back into view a new mentality has emerged, instead of spending money to compete for prizes and recognition, use that same time and energy to give back to the community! Josh Walker, Johnny's youngest son, is not letting the paddle go so easily... "Yea, dad wants to do more for charities but we will definitely be back next year to defend the title, bring it!" Sights are set on next years Crawfish Mambo title but are also set on a specific non-profit organization to give back to. Dose of the Coast is a non-profit organization specializing in taking victims of life-threatening illnesses and their families on fishing excursions, boating expeditions and sunset cruises on the gulf coast with the hopes of bringing a once-in-a-lifetime experience to the afflicted. "Very excited and grateful for this!!" Ashley Ferguson, one of the founders of Dose of the Coast, said after hearing the news. The Boilers Cast Net crew will serve 200 pounds of fresh, award-winning crawfish along with side dishes at any 2019 fundraising event for the Dose of the Coast foundation. As it has not been decided yet when and where this wondrous event will take place, it is certainly in the works and this is where these two great organizations need your help... To contribute to Dose of the Coast please visit doseofthecoast.org and follow their facebook page. They will keep you posted on the actual fund-raising event for 2019. Don't miss it!
