Welcome Campus Ministry Intern Michael McCoy

EASTON, Md. - Sept. 28, 2018 - PRLog -- Saints Peter & Paul High School recently announced that Michael McCoy is the school's new Campus Ministry Intern. A graduate student who is studying Spiritual & Pastoral Care at Loyola University in Baltimore, McCoy will be working with Campus Ministry and the Theology Department as part of his studies. He will be spending five to ten hours a week at SSPP observing different classes, supporting various activities and meeting with both staff and students. McCoy primarily will be working with junior and senior students.

Born and raised in Montgomery County, McCoy attended public school from kindergarten to 12th grade. He attended the University of Virginia and double majored in History and African-American Studies, before living and working in inner-city Philadelphia and Chicago for four years. McCoy has a strong sense of Christian faith, having grown up in the Presbyterian Church with the guidance of a fantastic high school youth pastor. His faith journey then took him to the Catholic Church, where he completely embraced his calling. With the assistance of Jesuit spiritual directors, McCoy also discerned Benedictine monastic life and lived in a Franciscan community in D.C.

Recently married, McCoy and his wife, Jeannette, now live in Cambridge. Along with his service and spiritual studies, McCoy also is a sports and history enthusiast. He loves engaging in service projects for others and is very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the SSPP community.
