SSPP Went Purple Against Substance Abuse

EASTON, Md. - Oct. 2, 2018 - PRLog -- Saints Peter & Paul is proud to say that both the elementary and high school took part in the Talbot Goes Purple campaign last month. The Talbot Goes Purple campaign is a focused effort to inspire communities to rise up and fight back against substance abuse. The campaign began on Sept. 1 and lasted the entire month, featuring different events such as guest speakers and rallies. The clubs in our local high school promoted awareness about the dangers of drugs (especially opioids) and alcohol. There were purple decorations, lighting and discussions throughout September. Talbot County was not alone in Going Purple this year, as other Mid-Shore and Delaware counties and the local businesses in these counties,  joined in for this important initiative. The best way to tackle a problem and find a solution to it is to start conversations about it, which is exactly what the Talbot Goes Purple campaign did.

Naturally, SSPP wanted to do its part to support the efforts of the Talbot Goes Purple campaign. That is why the elementary and high school decorated their doors in purple and had purple lights that came on in the evening. There also was a special Tag Day, which is when students and faculty wear casual clothes and for this one everyone wore purple as a strong symbol against substance abuse. SSPP believes in the message of Talbot Goes Purple and how crucial it is to encourage everyone in our community to take a stand against the dangers of drugs and alcohol. We also think that that message should be shared everywhere year round. Be sure to visit the Talbot Goes Purple website at www.talbotgoespurple.org for more information and SSPP cannot wait have even more participation in this important campaign next year.
