Hyde Brewing Rebrands as Suffolk Punch Brewing

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Nov. 15, 2018 - PRLog -- A familiar name in Charlotte's brewery scene is making a shift in their branding as they grow their business. Hyde Brewing has become Suffolk Punch Brewing, adopting the name associated with the company's popular culinary café, taphouse, and coffee bar located in South End. The company will also begin distributing throughout the state of North Carolina, marking the first time their beer will be available for purchase outside of their flagship location.

The Suffolk Punch opened in 2017 near South End's New Bern Station and simultaneously began brewing beer under the Hyde Brewing name, focused on crafting artfully scientific drinks and experiences for their customers. The brand's name is inspired by the Suffolk Horse, an English breed often referred to as the Suffolk Punch due to its solid appearance and strength. As the Suffolk Punch name continued to gain affinity throughout Charlotte's culinary and craft beer communities, the decision was made to consolidate the brands before expanding into new markets.

"The Suffolk Punch name has built a strong following in our community, so it was an easy choice to have it represent our entire brand moving forward," says Collin Ricks, one of the founders of The Suffolk Punch. "As we've continued to grow, the brand has naturally evolved to a place where expansion and distribution have become a reality. We look forward to having our products available to even more people throughout our region."

Distribution is set to begin by early 2019. Suffolk Punch Brewing will also expand their offerings and production capabilities with the addition of a new production facility focused on sours and wild ales. This facility will be located on Freedom Drive in Charlotte and will also open in 2019.
