Follow on Google News | Peter Alexander's Coming-of-Age Drama, "Walkin' the Way" ReleasesAward-winner explores new territory in his most personal film to date
By: Argolian Films The film was shot primarily in Broward County, Florida with some scenes shot near Naples. Alexander directed and edited the film from his own script. Will Robison was the cinematographer. Alexander's father, Tom, composed the musical score, as he has for all his son's films. "This is a departure for me," Alexander says. "My previous films were built around suspense, with elements of violence by some pretty unsavory characters. This one really has a sweeter feel with an exploration into human emotions and pain. There's still conflict, but it's told through self-discovery rather than danger in the conventional sense." Alexander is coming off his release, The Centenarian, which won four awards in 2018, including Best Picture at the Hollywood Florida Film Festival in the Student Category. Walkin' the Wayis currently entered in several film festivals for the 2019 festival season. "We're both pretty excited about Zathina," Alexander adds. "We feel the screenplay is genuinely spooky and innovative. We're exploring our options with this one with the hopes of a much larger budget than what we've been accustomed to. The feedback has been positive, and we're eager to get it made in 2019."
