Poetry Contest for Cozy Mystery Fans

AURORA, Ill. - Feb. 12, 2019 - PRLog -- Cozy Cat Press is looking to curl up with some cozy poetry. According to the company's publisher, Patricia Rockwell, would-be writers who are always one step ahead of the TV detectives or who envision the perfect crime can now have their poems featured in an upcoming anthology. The small independent publishing company is looking for work as clever as the most conniving criminals and as sly as the sneakiest sleuths to be published in their first ever mystery poetry anthology.

Entrants who submit a mystery-themed poem will have the chance to win cash prizes, illustrations inspired by their work, and publication.

Prizes will include, for 1^st place:  $100, publication, and a guaranteed illustration, for 2^nd place:  $50, publication, and a guaranteed illustration, for 3^rd place:  $25, publication, and a guaranteed illustration. All winners will receive publication in Cozy Cat Press's poetry anthology and a free ebook download of the book.

Submissions must be sent to: cozycatpresspoetry@gmail.com. There is no entry fee. The contest runs from March 1 to July 1.

Poems must follow the theme of "mystery." There should be no graphic sex or violence in the poems. Submissions must be in a readable serif  with 10-12 pt. font. Poems may not exceed two pages in length. Poems may not have been previously published. Submissions must be sent in a word document. Applicants may submit up to three poems—these must all be in the same word document. Applicants must include their name and email for contact. Subject line must read: "Cozy Cat 2019 Poetry Contest Submission."

Cozy Cat Press retains first serial rights which will be returned to the author upon publication. Entries not following these rules will be automatically disqualified without notice.
