The 2nd International Women's Day Global Golf Event 8th – 14th March 2019

SOUTHWARK, U.K. - March 27, 2019 - PRLog -- Masses of woman golfers took to the fairways and ranges between the 8^th and 14^th March to celebrate International Women's Day, competing in the 2^nd Global Golf Week. Across the world – North America, UK, Europe, South Africa and Australia – games were organized to raise funds for good causes. Golf ranges in the UK and United States took part too, adding a new dimension to the event.

Golfcrowd.online, the organisers, touch no money and all entry fees are donated direct 100% to chosen charities. We can only guess at the total raised. What we do know is that the number celebrating women's golf achievements in the spirit of #BalanceforBetter and #PuttforGood was even greater this year. We are sure we smashed last year's US$5K. Even the weather turned on a benign face for us.

Now the hard work begins, using an adaptation of the Peoria scoring system, to find our winners. Last year we topped up the winners' donations to Scottish Women's Aid, The Thames Hospice and The Athlone House for Abused Women and Children. We look forward to adding to the funds raised by this year's winners and will be announcing the awards as soon as all the scores are in and the computations complete

We also manage the Golf Crowd Lendwithcare Team and this year we have been able to make loans to entrepreneurs across the world – a butcher, musician, kindergarten, chicken farmer, shoe maker, clothes and food traders, and a recycling business.

2020 will see the Inaugural International Women's Day Global Golf Championship. Following the introduction of the new rules in 2019, on 1 January next year the World Handicapping System will come into effect and make a truly global competition possible. We have learnt important lessons from our first two events and will be looking for support to make this an exciting first.
