Follow on Google News | UU Wellesley Hill Celebrates the Installation of the Rev. Dr. Kelly Murphy MasonBy: UU Wellesley Hills During the April 7th Installation service, the Rev. Ana Levy-Lyons, the senior minister at First Unitarian Congregational Society of Brooklyn, where Rev. Kelly was Community Minister from 2016-2018, will preach her sermon titled "Guided and Grounded". The following evening, Monday, April 8that 7pm, Rev.Levy-Lyonswill lead a discussion at UU Wellesley Hills about her 2018 book No Other Gods: The Politics of the Ten Commandments,recently released in paperback. This book talk will focus on how the Ten Commandments can offer direction for our 21stcentury challenges, including corrupted power structures, assaults on the environment, and the various ways society undermines our sense of personal worth today. Autographed copies of Rev. Levy-Lyon's book will be available for purchase. "It's clear from Ana's preaching and writing that the wisdom of the ancients is not lost on her - rather, it's orienting and spiritually grounding in these uncertain times," Rev. Mason says. "It also makes her supremely mindful of the generations to follow." UU Wellesley Hills has served as a meeting place for Unitarian Universalists for 150 years now. To showcase and honor the congregation's rich history, a historical exhibit will be displayed at UU Wellesley Hills during the weekend of the Installation and throughout the rest of the month of April.
