By: UU Wellesley Hills A "Yes" vote on Question 3 will uphold a law passed by the state legislature in 2016 to protect the rights of transgender people in Massachusetts. That law prohibits discrimination against transgender individuals in public spaces such as museums, restaurants, hospitals, stores, and libraries. The law also allows people to use restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms that match their gender identities. The Reverend Dr. Kelly Murphy Mason, Senior Minister at UU Wellesley Hills, said, "In Unitarian Universalist congregations like ours in Wellesley Hills, we have a couple of mottos that are serving us well these days. We declare that we believe that 'Love Is Love' and that 'All Genders Are Whole, Holy, and Good.' Those are articles of faith for us, and we affirm all people in their freedom of gender expression." Since 2001, UU Wellesley Hills has been an official Welcoming Congregation, affirming the inherent worth and dignity of all persons, regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity/expression, within our congregation, our community, and beyond. UU Wellesley Hills (309 Washington Street, http://www.uuwellesley.org) is a faith community with regular worship services at 10:30 am on Sundays. End
