AACE 2019 Welcomes Dr. George Kahaly as Featured Speaker

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - April 10, 2019 - PRLog -- The American Association of Endocrinologists (AACE), a professional community of physicians specializing in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, is pleased to welcome George Kahaly, MD, PhD, as a featured speaker at AACE 2019, its 28th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Los Angeles.

Taking place April 24-28, 2019, AACE 2019 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center & JW Marriott and will feature expert speakers, networking events, and trade show exhibitions.

Dr. Kahaly is Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology/Metabolism and chief physician of the endocrine outpatient clinic at the Johannes Gutenberg University Medical Center in Mainz, Germany. He will present several times during AACE 2019 on topics related to autoimmune thyroid diseases. He will give the Friday morning plenary presentation on Graves' eye disease, an autoimmune disease that usually develops in people with an overactive thyroid. Dr. Kahaly will join other expert speakers for a series of presentations on autoimmune thyroid diseases, including his topic, "Thyrotropin Receptor Antibodies in Autoimmune Thyroid Disease," examining the relevance and utility of TSH receptor antibodies in autoimmune thyroid disease.

Dr. Kahaly has authored 255 original papers and reviews in publications including the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Autoimmunity, and the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. He is the editor of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism (JCEM), and served as associate editor of the journal THYROID from 2009 to 2012.
