New Cryptography-based Publishing Platform Announced at FanX

SALT LAKE CITY - April 25, 2019 - PRLog -- CryptoComics was officially released by partners eComicz and technology company ApogeeINVENT at FanX in Salt Lake City last weekend. The popular comic convention was the perfect launching point for a platform built for comic book creators and fans.

The CryptoComic Marketplace platform was developed by technology company ApogeeINVENT. Comic book authors, or creators, can join and publish their work on the platform for free. Fans, or collectors, can purchase comic books and earn money from reselling the comic books on the platform, as well.

The company is named for the technology employed to publish and track sales. Cryptography, or blockchain technology, has been used previously to create digital, verifiable assets, but never in the comic book industry. Any comic or art book published on the CryptoComics blockchain becomes a digital asset, verified by blockchain technology. That means each published issue is a verified original issue, and is tracked on the platform throughout each sale and resale. Creators can collect income each time the issue is sold between collectors, which is the first time ever that this has been possible for digital comic sales.

The platform also includes numerous marketing features for creators to build a fan base and sell their comic and art books. It is also a community with social features that allows fans to follow their favorite creators, interact and discuss comic books, create profiles, and share on other social platforms.

A proprietary flip-book reader was also built into the platform to make viewing comic books "as close to the physical comic book reading experience as possible," says ApogeeINVENT CEO Joseph Frazier. He oversaw personally the architecture of the flip book reader, as well as the platform itself.

"We were blown away by the positive response to CryptoComics both at FanX and on our digital channels," says CryptoComics CEO Jared Brague. "Everyone understood what we are trying to do for creators, and to really revolutionize the comic book industry. We've gotten way more traction than even we anticipated."

The platform is currently in closed beta launch. This means members can join by invite-only. Users that are selected will work closely with the CryptoComics launch team to give their feedback on the platform and help shape finishing touches before the second launch stage. Several major comic book creators and artists, whose names have not yet been released, are testing out the platform.
