Queensborough Bank is proud to partner with Golden Harvest Food Bank throughout the year

LOUISVILLE, Ga. - July 10, 2019 - PRLog -- Queensborough Bank is proud to partner with Golden Harvest Food Bank, a nonprofit organization that provides food and other grocery products to those in need.

From hungry seniors on a tight budget to children going without school lunches on the weekend, Golden Harvest Food Bank works to provide a wholesome meal to those in need.  Founded in 1982, Golden Harvest Food Bank is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to fight hunger by feeding hungry adults and children. Serving more than 30 counties in Georgia and South Carolina, the food bank has local warehouses in Aiken and Augusta.

Today, Golden Harvest Food Bank has distributed more than 17.4 million pounds of food to more than 530 partner agencies, including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters for abused women and children, and other nonprofit charities such as day care centers, senior citizens programs, and group homes for the disabled.

This partnership with Golden Harvest Food Bank started in 2010, and to date, QNB has hosted 8-10 mobile food pantries a year with over 50,000lbs of food provided for 7 local communities. Each mobile event provides 5,000-10,000lbs of food to communities that are in need.
