Eleven Dimensions Technologies announces its new HIPAA compliance service

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. - July 28, 2019 - PRLog -- Eleven Dimensions Technologies (11D) is launching its new HIPAA compliance service for small medical practices.   It has recently acquired some HIPAA expertise and resources and is ready to begin offering HIPAA and HITECH consulting services in Southern California.  HIPAA is an acronym for Health Insurance Privacy and Accounting Act.  HITECH is an acronym for the HIPAA Omnibus rule passed by Congress to address technologically driven changes in healthcare.

11D is targeting its new service at small medical practices that outsource services to contractors and tend to neglect HIPAA compliance in their rush to save a few dollars on overhead expenses.  Many small medical practices tend to skimp on this aspect of practice management.  11D has authored a large library of Business Associate Agreements that are relevant in small to medium medical practices.  Additionally, 11D's employees are trained and certified in various aspects of HIPAA compliance.  It is ready to being offering this service to the medical industry in Southern California.  Pricing is yet to be determined but will likely be a fixed fee based on the size of the medical practice.

Outside contractors working for a medical practice or any other business that has contact with patients or insurance customers are often overlooked as potential sources of HIPAA violations.  Business associates can also now be held liable to similar repercussions as covered entities can under HIPAA regulations should PHI become compromised in a healthcare data breach. Examples include a consultant who does hospital utilization reviews or an attorney who has PHI access as he provides legal services to a healthcare provider.  The first step is to get them to agree to protect patient information by signing a business associate agreement (BAA).  11D was executed many BAAs and has authored many high-quality BAA template for use in a variety of settings.
