Follow on Google News | At Angels Gate Cultural Center 2nd Annual Fortnight Concert SeriesAngels Gate Cultural Center co-sponsors the Fortnight Concert Series, an eight-night event featuring an array of musical talents in the access tunnel leading to the Leary gun battery. Harold Greene, an Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) founding artist, and Frank Rodriguez, an AGCC resident artist, will be hosting the series starting August 23rd. The concert venue is a hundred year old access tunnel on the AGCC campus. Holding the Fortnight Concert Series midway through the underground tunnel provides musical and vocal guest artists a uniquely intimate space with marvelous acoustics. This is truly an underground concert event. August 23rd and 24th: Harold Greene Harold will open the 2019 concert series, creating music on the fly, playing the Chapman Stick with the aid of the loop pedal and percussion implements. September 6th and 7th: Dave Widow Dave, an established guitarist, singer and songwriter, will bring a rich soulful sound to the battery with his unique finger-picking style and strong impassioned vocals. September 20th & 21st: Chuck Alvarez Chuck, a Los Angeles based guitarist, singer, and songwriter, along with his acoustic trio, will fill the battery with Blues-Rock, light jazz, R&B and a little Americana! October 4th & 5th: Ricky Abernathy Formally a member of "the rolling stones of funk" Lakeside, Ricky brings his 30+ years experience as a vocalist, musician and songwriter, to close the 2019 Fortnight Concert Series. The Tunnel opens at 7pm for a 'meet and greet' with the artists, followed by a 7:30pm - 9:30pm program that includes a 20 minute intermission.
