Egypt Logistics and Warehousing Market: Ken Research

In order to improve the situation of the economy post the Egyptian crisis, the government is focusing to invest in the logistics and transportation infrastructure, and Free Zones to aid growth in the logistics industry.

GURGAON, India - Oct. 15, 2019 - PRLog -- Analysts at Ken Research in their latest publication titled "Egypt Logistics and Warehousing Market Outlook to 2025 –driven by Massive Infrastructure Development and Increase in Foreign Trade" believe that the country's strategic location, improving economy and industrial growth, coupled with investments for the development of ports and road network and efforts to attract FDI in the country will drive the growth of the market in the future.

Strategic Location: Having coasts on both the Mediterranean and Red Seas, as well as being part of both Africa and Asia makes Egypt an important transhipment hub in the world. The Suez Canal, which was recently expanded to accommodate double the number of vessels transports 7.5% of the world's ocean freight and is the fastest route from East to West and vice-versa

Infrastructure Development: Since the new government came into power, Egypt has seen huge infrastructure projects being undertaken. The National Roads Project, expected to be completed by 2020, has already added 5,000 km of new roads in the country. Upon completion, the new roads will constitute 20% of the total road network in Egypt. Expansion of seaports and adding logistics areas in the ports also are driving the growth in the market.

Dominance of Third-Party Logistics:  In Egypt, almost all foreign logistics providers follow an asset-light model and provide 3PL services by partnering with the local freight forwarders and warehousing companies. This grants them access to the entire market, as well as saves costs by allowing them to not invest in their own fleet and warehouses. This proves beneficial to both domestic and international companies.

E-Commerce Boom: The e-commerce industry in Egypt is witnessing exponential growth due to the rising middle class population, rising disposable income, and the presence of major e-commerce players like Jumia and Souq. The growth in the e-commerce industry is expected to substantially help boost the CEP market.

Increasing Foreign Trade: Egypt's increasing foreign trade is helping the growth of the logistics industry. The Free Zones in the country set up with the aim of increasing exports, exported goods worth USD 6 billion in the first quarter of 2019 alone.
