The share of South American countries in Russia's total imports has declined, despite the Russia's willingness to buy more South American food products.
 
MOSCOW, Russian Federation - Feb. 16, 2020 - PRLog -- Russian Foreign Trade has released the reports on Russia's foreign trade in goods with the countries of South America in 2019.

A brief review of Russia's trade with South American countries in 2019

The share of South American countries in Russia's total trade (exports and imports) declined from 1.73% in 2018 to 1.56% in 2019.

The share of South American countries in Russia's total exports declined from 1.08% in 2018 to 0.94% in 2019.

The share of South American countries in Russia's total imports declined from 2.96% in 2018 to 2.65% in 2019.

The major trading partners of Russia in South America in 2019:

- The top five Russia's trade partners in South America in 2019 were Brazil (0.6906% of Russia's total foreign trade), Ecuador (0.2525%), Argentina (0.1725%), Chile (0.1539%), and Paraguay (0.1031%);
- The top five Russia's export markets in South America in 2019 were Brazil (0.5806% of Russia's total exports), Ecuador (0.0940%), Argentina (0.0762%), Peru (0.0626%), and Colombia (0.0361%);
- The top five Russia's import suppliers from South America in 2019 were Brazil (0.8812% of Russia's total imports), Ecuador (0.5272%), Chile (0.3808%), Argentina (0.3394%), and Paraguay (0.2752%).
