UK Indie Publisher Gathering its Gaming Networks to Spawn the Gorgon's Loch

HULL, U.K. - March 10, 2020 - PRLog -- 'Our new Gaming division introduces novice gamers to the joys of board and tabletop gaming without the steep learning curve', says CEO Dan.

The Gorgon's Loch is the result of thousands of hours of research and play-testing to produce a game where novice players can be up and running in minutes, yet with hidden subtleties to engage the experienced gamer too.

'It is the ideal introduction to board gaming. Those games with role play elements like ours can be great learning experiences as well as real fun.'

The Gorgon's Loch has a number of unusual angles. It can be played with or without a dungeon master. 'The differences with and without a DM make for completely different games,' says play-tester Harriet.

Each level takes somewhere between one and two hours to play through, perfect for a gaming session for a group of friends.

What if the avid gamer is itching for a game but no one else is free to play? 'That's a real plus,' Dan says. 'You can play it as a single player. It's great for the novice who lacks confidence. They can play through a scenario and see for themselves how fun the game is. And if a player arrives after the game has started? They can drop in and drop out of the game at their leisure.'

Is it possible for a sole player to get all the way through the six levels provided? 'We have carried out many hours of play-testing with many different people,' Dan tells me. 'All in all it turns out that you have a roughly 50% chance of completing level 4 as a solo player, and just under a 5% chance of getting all the way through all six levels as a solo adventurer. It can be done, but it's tough and requires a lot of luck.'

Fantastic Books Gaming is the brand new division of East Yorkshire publishing house, Fantastic Books Publishing. They have long been established as a leading publisher of books-of-the-game, holding more official titles for Elite: Dangerous and The Lords of Midnight than any other publisher worldwide. In addition, they organise the annual gaming convention FantastiCon. The new gaming division has brought together the network of gaming expertise that has been behind the success of the books-of-the-game publishing and the FantastiCon event.

A crowdfunding campaign to fund the retail release of the game has been live since 1^st March on Kickstarter and will run for 1 month.
