Since its establishment in 1997, the SIA Foundation has awarded more than $2 million to fund nonprofit projects across Indiana. Recipients represented Carroll, Cass, Hancock, LaPorte, Marion, Porter, Tippecanoe and White counties. The SIA Foundation awards grants twice annually to nonprofit organizations seeking up to $15,000 in capital funding for arts and culture, health and welfare or education projects. Recipients for the spring grant cycle are: Camp Tecumseh YMCA (Carroll County) – $1,269.12 Beds for health center Dayton Police Department (Tippecanoe County) – $5,829 Radar speed signs Delphi Community High School (Carroll County) – $9,295 Equipment for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program Hancock County Children's Choir (Hancock County) – $1,186.50 Cart for storing music binders Kouts Volunteer Fire Department (Porter County) – $7,475 Fire helmets and fronts LaCrosse Volunteer Fire Department (LaPorte County) – $8,500 Bunker gear Lewis Cass Schools (Cass County) – $14,581 Factory simulator North White School Corp. (White County) – $13,351 Instruments, chairs, stands and uniforms Wea Ridge Middle School (Tippecanoe County) – $9,112 Water bottle refilling stations West Lafayette Police Department (Tippecanoe County) – $5,800 Aggressor suits, student suits and equipment bags Westminster Neighborhood Services (Marion County) – $13,462.16 Kitchen supplies and equipment William Henry Harrison High School (Tippecanoe County) – $9,874.41 Microphone equipment for auditorium YWCA Greater Lafayette (Tippecanoe County) – $7,277 Handicap accessible ramp About the SIA Foundation The SIA Foundation was established in October 1997 with a $1 million gift from Subaru of Indiana Automotive. SIA has made subsequent contributions of $4 million, bringing the total contribution to $5 million. The SIA Foundation uses the funding to award grants and matching gifts to nonprofit organizations in Indiana. The SIA Foundation has awarded over $2 million in capital grants.
