Follow on Google News | Join ILIA's Youth As They Impact Society Through Their Internships"ILIA has allowed me to learn skills I never imagined I would need. I don't go a day without using skills from ILIA. This is truly an experience I value greatly," said the head of outreach, Jannah Nassar. Internships at ILIA are like no other. Rather than spending their time completing narrow focused tasks at other internships, the youth at ILIA get to manage their own projects as part of leading a real organization, a scarce opportunity for teens. Leadership is an important concept in Islam mentioned through various verses in the Holy Quran, but is not often seen in the Muslim community. That's why ILIA's internship program is coached in a Muslim environment with the core value of UNITY: unapologetic, niyah (intention), ihsan (perfection) There is no doubt that ILIA has empowered teens and built upon their skills. As Mahmoud Zaghloul, a technology intern at ILIA mentioned, "ILIA gives me the reason to wake up early in the morning and work." "I joined ILIA with an intention: to impact my community through personal service. ILIA welcomed me with open arms, opened my eyes to my potential, and transformed my character," stated Zafir Naseem Director of ILIA's Youth Crisis Line. The president of the organization, a college student, Bahaa Harraz said, "Throughout their internships, many youth have gone on to build relationships, change minds, and even save lives...it is these experiences that turn youth into the moral leaders we need today." These are just a few examples of some youth leaders at ILIA which truly portray how valuable and impactful ILIA's internships are. With multiple roles, tracks, and programs, Islamic Leadership Institute of America supplies countless opportunities for youth, from creating flyers, establishing websites, to hosting their own events. There's a position for all. Find out how you can help make change in society and become a leader by applying no later than January 12.
